Annual events in Struer
Here you can see some of the bigger annual events that takes place in and around Struer: annual events.
One of the annual events is the traditional nautical Limfjorden Race, Scandinavia's biggest, which takes place every year around Limfjorden. Humble fishing boats, three-masted ships and schooners compete against each other for the honour of winning, although having fun onshore at the Port of Struer is important too.
The Public Library (Biblioteket)
At Struer Bibliotek housed in Infocenter Struer, it is possible to get access to 500 online newspapers from 70 countries. People from abroad living in Struer can choose their preferred newspaper and get the news even before the paper version hits the streets in their home country.
The library has access to several more books than what you see at first. All Danish libraries are interconnected which allows you to reserve books, music, games and other material in many different languages from all libraries in Denmark. See: bibliotek.dk
In order to support bilingual children, the library has established a system where one can order books in a certain language for a certain age group (For instance "Books in Hindi 3 - 5 years"). Ask your librarian for more information.
You can also find "study café" in the library where children and young people who all have Danish as their second language are assisted in doing their homework by volunteers, often consisting of other young people.

Apollon Struer shows international movies in their original language. It is also possible to join cinema clubs etc.
Struer's main location for music events is called "Folkets Hus" (The People's House). It is located in the downtown Struer. This is a local assembly hall and cultural meeting house, offering a variety of cultural activities and music concerts.
Gimsinghoved is the name of the cultural centre of Struer and the venue for a wide range of art exhibitions, lectures and concerts.
At both places, visitors can enjoy soft drinks, coffee etc.
At Struer Music School (Struer Musikskole), the local music scene unfolds and people of all ages can play different kinds of instruments and join bands and choirs.
At Struer Museum, it is possible to experience the great new Bang & Olufsen exhibition and get to know the history of Struer, Thyholm, the Limfjord and the beautiful landscapes of the surrounding region.
