Day care and institutions for children
We are pleased to guarantee your child a place in a day care centre, nursery school or youth club. Within a maximum of three months we can find a suitable care for you child.
Our day care is widely spread all over the municipality from Struer to Thyholm, and we can always offer you an opportunity for day care near your home.
Day Care Institution, Primary School and International High School in Struer. Primary schools
The municipality of Struer provides schooling at all levels including high school. There are nine primary schools - spread evenly though the municipality in order to enable all school children to attend a school close to a familiar environment. The local roads and bike paths provide a safe way to school. The school busses can also offer you free ride to the schools in the local area.
International primary school
The Park School in Struer "Park Skolen" has a newly established international department with English as the primary teaching language, beginning from sixth grade in the primary and school.
The purpose is among other things to prepare pupils for a global society. It is also meant as an alternative option for families who stay in Struer because of employment or studies. Read more here.
International High School (Internationalt Gymnasium)
The local high school "Struer Statsgymnasium" is one of nine schools in Denmark that are authorized to offer the IB (International Baccalaureate) Diploma Programme to students in the age of 16 to 19. The programme is taught in English and it appeals to both international and Danish students. The school has boarding facilities.
Graduation with an IB Diploma gives the student access to universities and other institutions of higher education all over the world. The programme is an international education offered by a worldwide community of schools. There are more than 680,000 IB students at 2,508 schools in 132 countries.

Senior citizens
As an elderly resident in Struer you deserve an active, eventful and interesting old age. We offer support and nursery care for everyone who need a helping hand. The seven residential homes for elderly people are centrally located in nice surroundings.
